At a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, President Donald Trump announced that Japanese steel company Nippon Steel is dropping its acquisition of U.S. Steel in favor of an investment. Also announced were reciprocal tariffs as part of a larger trade war.
